Job Description:
FULL TIME DIRECTOR OF ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS: (Non Unit Professional Position) This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the college's social media presence, multimedia communication initiatives, and email marketing activities, as well as the overall vision and direction of the college's website. The Director of Online Communications reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, and supervises the day-to-day activities of the college's three person web management team. Hands on leader wanted. As the demand for online communication development and support continues to grow, the College is looking for a strategic thinking team player who can develop a vision and execute results. The Director of Online Communications will drive our efforts to improve the way we engage communities, create a buzz, generate awareness, push-out information to constituencies, and reach our target audiences where and how they want to hear from us.
- Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to insure all online communication development initiatives
are aligned with the institution's strategic goals and priorities
- Provide the leadership and strategic direction for the ongoing
development of the college's public website, intranet, and student/staff portal
- Provide the leadership and strategic direction for
all social media, multimedia development, and email marketing initiatives in support of the college's core marketing communication
objectives (enrollment, retention, engagement, image building, development, etc.)
- Provide the strategic direction and technical
expertise required to develop and execute online multimedia presentations, email marketing campaigns, and the college's social media
presence (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Wikipedia, Flickr, blogs, etc.)
- Develop a social media strategy that insures the
appropriate 'voice' is utilized in the generation of all social media content to help promote user/community engagement
- Develop a
college-wide social media 'administration' strategy that insures collaboration and coordination between multiple
departments
- Communicate and enforce institutional policies dictating online standards for visual design and content
development
- Develop and monitor analytics, tracking, and reporting metrics for all web, social media, and email marketing
activities
- Conduct background research on emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Create project timelines and
production schedules to drive and track job progress
- Provide customer service support to internal clients for all web, social media, multimedia development, and email marketing initiatives
Requirements:
- Masters degree in a related field and a
minimum of five years experience directing and implementing online communication strategies and initiatives
- Experience developing and
executing an institution-wide social media presence/strategy, multimedia presentations, and email marketing/outreach campaigns
- Strong
web and social media content development skills
- Strong knowledge of fundamental UX and UI principles and experience applying these
principles in the development of professional websites
- Strong multimedia/digital production and programming skills (Adobe Production
Suite, iMovie, flash, Windows Media, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong leadership, team building, and project management skills
- An
ability to clearly articulate goals, lead project teams, and confidently advocate for a strategic vision
- Strong interpersonal
communication and customer service skills
- Strong graphic design, desktop publishing, and digital photography skills
- Working
knowledge of Wordpress
- General knowledge of the higher education sector, especially community colleges
Salary: $45,000 to $66,965
